The Woolshops name come from traders who sold Wool by the stone and not the bale and the Traders were called Staplers were called after the fibres in a measure of wool which were smaller amount for cloth produced in homes.
It is believed to be the only street in the World called this and has a mention in the 1555 Act of Parliament.
You can walk to the Woolshops from Halifax Railway station, the Bus station, or park in one of their 300 on site parking spaces.
